DON'T OPEN THE ATTACHMENT - it contains a virus. His ISP is Road Runner in
Herndon VA. Forward his post to ***@rr.com. They will suspend his
account. Unfortunately his account has been suspended before and he starts
posting viruses after he opens up a new account.

Perhaps this is off topic, but WHY would anyone waste their time like this.
There is also a risk of getting caught. The average bank hold-up artist
gets at least a couple of hundred bucks for his trouble.

They just do it for kicks, Walter. They're just kids (or kids
intellectually) who enjoy the "power" they get from wasting other people's
time, effort, bandwidth, etc. on a *global* scale.

The best response is to simply ignore it (and all other like-minded childish
pranks).

it gets a little more fun than them being kids and childish. There is an
odd set of accomplishment knowing that someone, somewhere is having to deal
with what you put together, and that in that particular case you know more
about their problem than they do. Also, there is the thrill of getting
recognized by the antivirus wizards, and even getting to see your totals on
the microtrends map. Going further, there is the thrill of finding new and
interesting ways to make the computers do what you want them to do, even if
the OS programmers never intended for it.

It's basically a big mental battle of virus writer versus the establishment.
Many viruses are never released except to antivirus companies and to
Microsoft. These are used to demonstrate some OS failing that someone
finds.

I'm not saying I condone all this, but after dealing with more than a few
hacker types (both good and bad), I've seen how they work out.

No the best response is to report his abuse so his account gets suspended.
All it takes is one idiot to open the attachment, infect his computer and
send out a few hundred e-mails an hour for a month or so.

Why do you talk like that? I'm a "murderous, terrorist supporting, dictator
supporter"? Actually, I'm from the country that provided safe landing for
hundreds of your airplanes, and food and shelter for tens of thousands of
YOUR countrymen after 9/11. It was OUR troops that got the Congressional
Medal of Honor after being bombed by YOUR state militia in Afghanistan.
(They don't talk about that a lot on CNN, do they?)

We are your neighbors. We tried to give you some very sound advice and
tried to keep you out of trouble. In our schools they teach the kids,
"Friends don't let their friends drive drunk." Friends also don't encourage
their friends to get involved in unwinnable wars. If we were your enemies
we would have said, "Go for it."

There are no 60 countries supporting you. The "coalition of the willing"

they support you. They are not your friends. That leaves about eight

Fighting terrorism is NOT an unwinnable war. As other regimes learn
the results of supporting terrorism, the terrorists will lose more and
more of their safe havens.

Time will tell if it's a ruse or not but it may be that Muammar

Funny....terrorists don't hit Canada...hmm....I wonder why... ;)

Also, remember the Swiss never got invaded in WW2...hmm...I wonder

Maybe it's because Canada and Switzerland don't try to play 'alpha male'

Hitler threatened to..Switzerland closed its borders and said the fight
would
be to the last drop of Swiss blood. Diplomats got the border open by
promising
Switzerland free access to all seaports for its chocolate imports. Also
to supply
Switzerland with all the coal it needed if it would manufacture
Sschmeizer (sp)
machine pistols. Switzerland refused, but did agree to make single
machine parts.
In 1944 Truman ordered Switzerland to stop. The Swiss could not and
would not.
They were our lifeline to the POW's. So Truman Sequestered all the funds
the Swiss
had sent to the US when Hitler threatened them. Those funds were not
rturned
until 1949.. The Swiss are still a bit pissed over that. Switzerland has
a machine gun in everyhouse along with every male is in the reserves
until age 58.
In History Switzerland was the most mercenary nation on earth. They
still have
the Swiss Guard at the Vatican. Switzerlands constitution is word for
word the
American constitution. The Swiss and the Finns cannot be easily overrun
due
to well trained troops and their rugged terrain. They have logistics
stored for
30 years worth of war.

Actually, I will admit that I voted for him. I was happy with the way things
were going (except campaign finance reform) before 9/11. I don't find it
disrespectful at all...he is a public fibber (I mean figure) that is open to
criticism of any kind that does not involve a threat...that either let 9/11
happen for political advantage, had a hand in it himself, or NOTA, but is
still milking it for everything he can. Think Reichstag fire...."Homeland
Security"...the "Enabling Acts"....rounding up Arabs...you know the rest. I
wouldn't have voted for Gore if I had a gun to my head...anyone who thinks
that "the internal combustion engine is the greatest threat the world faces"
doesn't deserve the highest office in the land - I could smell the executive
orders coming if he had been put in...any way, I'm with the "we told you so"
folks now...and can only hope that he and the rest of his friends require

well...as I have stated, I was using it in reference to Bush, but I have
been reconsidering. I don't want to insult the chimps...they never killed
anyone, spent hundreds of billions of dollars in idiotic pursuits, or lied
daily to the American people. Let's say for one minute that the official
story of the terror attacks is true. They don't hate us because we have
shopping malls, SUVs and Britney Spears (ok, the last one is
debatable)...they hate us because we're fucking around in their backyards.
Watch 13 days..."The big Red Dog is digging in our backyard, and we are
justified in shooting it"...they see the big red, white, and blue dog
digging in their backyard. If we went back to sensible non-interference, and
let the 3rd rate dictators of the world just fight eachother, we wouldn't
have people flying planes into buildings. As an aside, the chair of the 9/11
commission has already stated, on the record that the attacks, could have
and should have been prevented. More testimony is going to be released after
the new year. At bare minimum, that points to criminal negligence. And I'll
close with a question...Where are Iraq's WMD?

I have plenty of facts on my side.
1. The towers fell at free-fall speed. IOW, the ENTIRE structure collapsed
from the bottom up, not at the site of the impacts. Controlled Demolition.
2. 7 WTC. Not hit by a plane. Major fire. Structure collapsed evenly,
smoothly, and completely. Another controlled demolition.
3. The pentagon hit. The aircraft made a descending 270 degree turn, flying
at a speed between 400-500MPH. The targeting was so precise that the lawn
wasn't even gouged. If the pilot of that aircraft was deemed incompetent to
fly a Cessna 172, how could he have pulled off such a manuver? Playing
flight sim at home doesn't give you that kind of skill.
4. Prior to 9/11, NO high-rise steel/concrete building had EVER collapsed
from fire. Not one. On 9/11, we had 3 within 12 hours.
5. Kerosene (WTC 1 and 2) or diesel (WTC 7) doesn't burn hot enough even
under ideal conditions to melt or significantly weaken structural steel.
6. Most of said kerosene was consumed in the initial fireballs, the fires in
the structures were not hot enough to do significant structural damage. A)
even assuming the fuel was burned at a stoichiometric ratio on one floor
(thus creating the maximum possible heat load) there simply wasn't enough
energy available to melt/weaken the steel. B) A significant portion of said
fuel was consumed outside of the buildings at impact (especially on the
second hit, and the second hit caused the first fall? C) They appeared to be
very large, powerful explosions, but were not. The big, Hollywood style
fireball is a low velocity deflagration, not a high brissance detonation.
7. There were pools of MOLTEN steel found after ~100 DAYS at Ground Zero.
8. The firefighter's audio tapes repeatedly state that even the floors
directly hit were "controllable".
9. 2 or more distinct seismic spikes per collapse, not one.
10. Gravitational energy did not provide enough of a source to pulverize the
concrete to 10-60 micron size reported, cause the pyroclastic expansion of
the cloud, and cause a reddish-orange flare in the collapse shots.

It didn't ruin my day when saddam was caught, I just don't think it was
worth over $100bn and the loss of life on both sides. Besides, there is NO
provable link between AQ and Saddam. The Bush administration has even
admitted it. AQ is a Muslim Fundimental group, Saddam was a secularist. That
would be like the Southern Baptists joining a pro-choice march. The
yellowcake story was a LIE. The 45 minute readiness claim was a LIE. Think
about it. If you were Saddam, and you were being overrun, if you had NBC

Visit airdisaster.com. There are plenty of crash photos that leave
identifiable wreckage. Think Pan Am 103. That aircraft was blown to pieces
by a bomb, and it still came down from 30,000+ feet as very recognizable
pieces of a 747. Anyway, your argument is not at all relevant...since the
buildings collapsed on the plane wreckage. Church? Who's living in the

Wrong, once more. By virtue of the inspector's report of a couple of
months ago as well as ongoing searches it looks there is ample
evidence of ongoing weapons development.

This is an area, largely desert, the size of California. There has
been years to develop underground storage facilities both
sophisticated as well as simply burying it in the sand. Remember a
month or so ago? A couple dozen MIGs were discovered buried in the
desert.

In addition it took over 6 months to find Saddam. Why would finding
WMD be any easier or happen any faster?

Actually I'm not particularly left wing. I'm not a bastard and I don't have
jackboots. These tended to be favored by the right wing, if I recall. As
far as the other points:

standards - I maintain a certain standard of honesty and justice. That
means not fabricating evidence to convict those who you believe ought to be
convicted even in the absence of proof. Cops go to jail for that.

honor - I do not allow myself to be forced into positions I feel are wrong
by threats of trade retaliation. Is it more honorable to make such threats?
Can the "Coalition of the willing" that were bribed and threatened be relied
on as honorable allies?

common sense - It is only common sense to expect that an invasion force will
be treated exactly as we have seen. What would you do if USA were being so
'liberated'? So would I. Whatever makes you think that other people are
different?

Just to remind again -- we were there in the first Gulf war, we are still
there in Afghanistan. It's just this time we think you would be a whole lot
better off today if you had stayed out of Iraq.

I don't think Tony Blair was bribed and threatened; he went in
willingly. He has his own agenda, and cultivating the British armaments
industry may well be part of it ('We've deprived you of a customer but
we'll need to buy a lot of stuff to replace that we used up doing the
depriving.'). Another part may be that the close alliance with USA
strengthens his negotiating hand in Europe: even a notional ability to
influence Uncle Sam is something the others (France and Germany in
particular) don't have.

religion. Ever wonder why so many of the 9/11 and Osama were Saudis?

well...as I have stated, I was using it in reference to Bush, but I have
been reconsidering.

I agree that oil is the (current) lifeblood of the economy, but it's not
worth thousands of dead and billions of dollars spent. Tanks, planes, and
Humvees burn a lot of oil. Making bombs/missiles/other weapons burns a lot
of oil. The more that is used in .mil ops, the less there will be for the
civilian market. Let them drill for it, and sell it to us. It is their
country, not ours, so we have no business drilling for their oil. If I were
you, I would be more upset at the eco-whackos that don't want drilling in
ANWR or offshore rigs. We have plenty of domestic oil, we simply lack the
will to get it. And we do need to consider alternatives...H2, nukes, natgas
turbines, solar, geothermal...even if we 'nuke the ay-rabs and steal their
oil', it'll still run out someday. Happily, I likely won't be around when
that happens, but do we really want to leave that mess to our decedents?

Liberals elevated it to personal distruction politics ala Clinton.
The rules for radicals came from 60's liberals. The Clinton adminitration

You miss the point. Ultimately this is about terrorism. You think
Osama will be a happy camper if we slink back to the US and stay
within our borders? We tried that with Germany (twice) and Japan.
Didn't work.

Geez, "stealing their oil"? Give me a break. We haven't and we
won't. The Iraqis get whatever the market value is and don't make the
mistake of thinking it's getting loaded onto tankers an all being
shipped over here.

You need to deal with the NIMBYs and eco-wackos to get nukes, solar,
wind or conventional drilling.

Nonetheless, it doesn't appear to me that reducing our dependence on
foreign oil will stop terrorists any time soon. They need to be dealt
with directly. And countries that support terrorism need to be dealt
with directly as well if they don't change their ways.

Because the Saudis have now gotten a taste of terrorism against their
populace and are, on the face of it, making a push against the
terrorists. Because, unfortunately, eco-wackos are preventing the US
from drilling for its oil. And because oil is still the lifeblood of
our economy.

ah - we provoked Japan into attacking with the embargo, and then let them
fly in and do it...the government wanted to get us into the war...before PH,
most citizens didn't want to have anything to do with it...my point is if
the US stops acting like a schoolyard bully, the other kids on the
playground will stop figuring out ways to give it a black eye...psych 101.

Right. And that is why Iraq was such a stupid side trip. Why stir up a
hornet's nest when you are trying to kill a snake in the grass?

The Europeans have been warning about terrorism for years but good old USA
wouldn't listen. US airport security was the worst on Earth. I was amazed
to see Hari Krishnas wandering around the international departure lounge at
LAX. It was USA that allowed two dozen guys with 4" knives onto aircraft on
a single day. (There were more than just the four flights. Some were
prevented by the fast clamp down.)

There have been terrorist attacks around the world long before 9/11. The US
believed it was superior to the rest of the world. It was US that supported
Iraq, Saudi Arabia and the Taliban long after the rest of the world said to
be careful. Now they are the experts!

There was a medieval entertainment called bear baiting that is very
instructive. A barrel covered with outward pointing nails was hung from a
tree. The bear was provoked at it and naturally go hurt. The bear got so
infuriated that he attacked the barrel until it (the bear, naturally) got
killed. That is the nightmare that I have about US involvement in Iraq.

It's amazing how our Fourth Estate has buried that story...just like the 5
celebrating Israelis they arrested that turned out to be Mossad.

That's just conspiracy theorists overactive imagination. Israel would
never risk involvement in something like the 9/11 attacks. They don't
have to. Why bother when they can remind U.S. politicians of the
political strength of their constituency in this country? And whisper
some mumbo jumbo into the ears of some Christian fanatics about how this
is all prophecy anyway.

ummm...Fox News is a "conspiarcy theorist" news source? After all...they are
"Fair and Balanced"...;)
I agree with the undue influence that they hold in our government....after
all, Clinton got in a lot of hot water for taking Chinese money by
proxy...methinks the same should be applied to the current crop. Either
foreign money is legal or it's not. (it isn't - regardless of who does the
laundry).
"Actually they're Omnitouch's treasures now...we bought them during the last
budget crisis. Uncle Sam needs to spend our tax dollars on important things
like pro-tobacco programs, anti-tobacco programs, shooting wild doggies, and
Israel"
5 points to the first response with the correct source of the quote. ;)

Misplaced trust if ever there was such a thing. Ever read of the Samson
Option? That could get quite a few US and European visitors/embassy
personnel/others killed, and then what's to stop India from going nuclear
against Pakistan? Israel is the only state with nukes in that area of the
world...and I don't trust Sharon any further than I could throw him. They
are pretty good at false flag ops too...remember Mossad's own motto - "By
Way Of Deception, Thou Shalt Do War". Here's what the USSAMS had to say
about them...

well...as I have stated, I was using it in reference to Bush, but I have
been reconsidering.

All it takes is one idiot to open the attachment, infect his computer and
send out a few hundred e-mails an hour for a month or so.
All of those scripts are written to insert trojans on MS Windows machines.
The simple solution is to ditch windows in favour of Linux.

No the best response is to report his abuse so his account gets suspended.

Odds are that the sender may not know that his PC has been infected and
is now propogating this virus. Contact his ISP and odds are that they
will assist him in cleaning up his system.
